During onboarding, choose Current Location or Search Manually, then select one to three Weather Essentials. Notification permission is not requested during onboarding. You can change locations, Essentials, units, visible conditions, and appearance later in Settings.

Weather Essentials are the measurements you want Thor to emphasize, such as temperature, humidity, wind, or rain. Choose one to three under Settings → Weather Essentials.

Essentials affect emphasis, not access. You can still view every supported condition and create alerts for measurements that are not Essentials.

Tap the location control on Weather to select another saved location. This changes what you are viewing without changing your Primary location.

The Primary location drives alerts, official alerts, Daily Summary, widgets, background work, and Forecast Accuracy. Use the location-management controls when you intentionally want to change it.

1. Confirm your device has an internet connection.
2. Pull down on Weather to refresh.
3. If using Current Location, confirm location permission remains enabled.
4. Try a manually saved location to isolate a location-permission issue.

Thor preserves useful cached forecasts during refresh failures instead of replacing them with an empty screen. A stale or failed-refresh message appears when appropriate.

The minute-by-minute view appears only when WeatherKit reports precipitation occurring or expected soon. It is hidden during dry weather and in regions where minute forecasts are unavailable.

Thor Custom Alerts are user-defined forecast conveniences. They are separate from government-issued official alerts supplied by Apple Weather.

Custom alert delivery depends on forecast freshness and iOS background opportunities, so it may occasionally be delayed or missed. Do not rely on a Thor Custom Alert as an emergency-warning system. Follow local authorities and official alerting services for safety-critical information.

1. Open iOS Settings and confirm notifications are allowed for Thor.
2. In Thor, confirm the alert, official-alert option, or Daily Summary is enabled.
3. Confirm Focus or notification-summary settings are not delaying delivery.
4. Confirm the intended location is Primary.

Thor requests notification permission only after you enable a delivery feature.

Forecast Stability shares the optional Forecast Accuracy setting and is off by default. After you enable it, Thor needs multiple forecast refresh checkpoints for the same future hour before it can describe that forecast as Steady, Changing, or Unsettled.

History belongs to the Primary location and remains on your iPhone.

Historical Reference uses Open‑Meteo ERA5 modeled historical weather and requires a network connection when a location is first loaded. Thor caches useful results for 24 hours and preserves them during a temporary refresh failure.

Modeled reanalysis is broader historical context, not a reading from a specific local weather station.

Thor widgets always use the Primary location, even while you browse another location in the app. WidgetKit controls exact refresh timing. Thor keeps the last-known values visible, labels aging data, and refreshes when iOS provides an opportunity.

1. Confirm iCloud Sync is enabled inside Thor on each intended device.
2. Confirm every device is signed in to the intended Apple Account.
3. Confirm iCloud Drive is enabled and the devices are online.
4. Review Thor’s sync status and Last Synced value in Settings.

Current Location, notification state, widget choices, and Forecast Accuracy records are intentionally device-specific.

Reset Thor Settings restores Essentials, units, alerts, locations, and display preferences. Forecast Accuracy history has separate deletion controls and is not removed by a normal settings reset.

Open Settings → Forecast Accuracy to export or delete Accuracy records, including deletion by generalized location.

Thor has no account, ads, cross-app tracking, or third-party behavioral analytics. Live forecasts come from Apple Weather. Historical Reference uses Open‑Meteo only for modeled historical comparisons.
